The NExT Region Creative Problem Solving Organization
Do you have a question about Destination Imagination and the NExT Region? Please check below to see if it has been posted and answered below. If not, please submit your question to jstromp1@swbell.net.
Q: How can I learn more about the DI
program and the NExT Region?
A: Many schools will be holding DI Awareness meetings throughout the
months of September and October. Please check the
NExT Region calendar or with
your school or school district to see if they are scheduling such a
meeting.
Q: Where can I find the full Challenge
descriptions?
A: First you must get a DI Team Number before you can access the full
challenge write ups. Check with your school DI Coordinator to
see if they have purchased a team number for your team. Once
you have that number, you can go online to
www.idodi.org and register that
number to your team. As a Team Manager, you will then have
access to the full DI program and resources.
Q: Where can I get Team Manager
training?
A: The DI program has an excellent Team Manager's guide which will
guide you in the best practices in leading your team.
Additionally, the NExT region offers a number of Team Manager's
training that you are encouraged to attend, which can be found on
our
calendar of events. These trainings give our NExT region
Team Managers additional information specific to the NExT Region and
then many events we offer to our teams. You should plan to
attend the Team Manager Training on either Monday October 12th or on
Thursday October 22nd both at Bowman Middle School beginning at 7:00
pm. For Instant Challenge, you should plan on attending the
Team Manager Training on Monday November 9th at Bowman Middle
School beginning at 7:00 pm. Additionally, we have Team
Manager Training as a session during our Fall Workshop for Teams on
December 5th for competitive teams, and on
December 6th for Rising Stars! teams.
Q: Where can I get training for my team?
A: The NExT Region is offering two Fall Workshops, one for
competitive teams on December 5th and one for
Rising Stars! teams on December 6th. There are a number of
sessions where your team will get hands activities led by
experienced and professional instructors. Register early as
spots are limited.
Q: How can I prepare my team for their
Instant Challenge?
A: The DI program has a good Instant Challenge practice set which
will give you Instant Challenges you can practice. The NExT
Region also has an Instant Challenge Festival scheduled for January
30th for both
competitive teams and for
Rising Stars! teams. Additionally, for competitive teams,
you should plan to attend the
Instant Challenge Scrimmage on February 13th. Register
early for both of these events.
